365 Snap Shots of Life: Day 119

Back to Pinterest I go! I wanted to give you a few laughs today. Life is hilarious, you just have to pay attention and look around. There’s something funny going on all the time. Last night I was watching Dane Cook on Youtube and what I enjoy MOST about his comedy is the hilarious sketches he conjures up about everyday life and situations. If you really want a good laugh, pay attention to what people say to one another. I don’t know if it’s a gift that comes with being a writer, that causes me to really tune in and pay attention to conversations; some of the best things I’ve heard comes from kids, now, THEY really know comedy! And now without further ado I leave you with these: :) Have fun today!

PEOPLE PLEASE STOP HATING

Have we become so callous as a human race that we can’t say anything nice when some one passes away? People would rather speak badly of the ones who go before us than remembering them for anything good they may have done in their lives. We are all human. We all make mistakes. Not one of us is perfect. So before any one of us casts a stone at someone who has fallen, look inside yourself and see if you’ve arrived…chances are you’re like the rest of us are: WORKS IN PROGRESS.

15 Days of Christmas Songs: 7th Song

Here is a rendition of  ”The Little Drummer Boy” as you might have never heard it before. This is so beautiful and it took the song to a whole new level for me. Mail out your Christmas boxes and cards, have a nice cup of hot tea and smile because you are truly blessed!

30 Day Music Challenge: Day 29

For today’s song I turn to the world of song parodies. I have been viewing some of the best talent in Youtube who do literal versions of songs from different decades. Here is a medley of several of Micheal Jackson‘s songs done in parody style. My kids and I laughed so hard watching it the other day. Get your MJ on and have a great day!!

What is the funniest song you have ever heard? I went to Youtube and after looking for a while, I had to go back to The Chicken Song. This is undoubtedly the funniest song on Youtube. When I need to perk up my day, I listen to this song. What I love about the singer is his passion for chicken.” I put nothin’ above my chicken,” he boldly declares. Now, that’s a love worth having! Lucky chicken :)

Music: A Friend for Life

Sitting down to listen to an old song is like making time to visit with a dear, close friend. New songs are like new friends; you  have to really tune in and listen closely to what they’re trying to say. When you’re working on becoming friends, you are taken in by their outward appearance at first. The same can be said of a new song you just heard on the radio-you only hear the melody and not so much the depth of the lyrics.

With some songs it takes a while to decipher their hidden messages; it takes a while to  draw out the hidden intent of a person’s heart and that only happens when you spend time with your new found friend.

Songs like friends can touch your soul deeply. Others leave you giddy, as if on cloud 9; these songs and types of people slip in and out of your life and  you can’t lean on them when times grow rough.

Then there are the love ballads that never fail to strike a chord; reminding you of a promise of love someone broke when you were younger. Others speak of melancholic tales of all consuming fires that took all you had including your innocence. Love ballads are like your closest most intimate of friends because they never lie; there to remind you of the person you used to be and how you arrived at your current state.

Tune in to Part  2 of this my personal reflection on music.

Are You Kidding Me??!!

I have been teaching my kids at home for a while now and I want to touch on a few very silly presuppositions that people make about home schooled kids. My kids get asked a lot by other kids they meet: ” Hey, so like do you get to do what ever you want all day long? Do you get to spend all day in your pajamas? Do you get to watch TV, play video games, or Facebook all day long?” Really?? The answer to all of these pesky questions is a: NO! NO! NO! NO!

So now I shall leave you with this video I found on Youtube; I hope it answers some of your questions…Good day!!
